- MRCS or MRSC (ENT)
Experience Essential criteria - ST3 or above level of experience in full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a parttime or flexible basis) at least one of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.
- Experience in the management of acute medical emergencies and, practical interventions e.g. chest drains, central lines etc
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and manage junior doctors
- Appropriate knowledge base and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems; able to prioritise clinical need.
- Motivated to ensure the achievement of defined targets
- Is up to date and fit to practise safely
- Minimum one year of experience in head and neck surgery with the ability to manage head and neck airway emergencies independently
Desirable criteria - Interest in head & Neck cancers. It would be helpful for the applicant to have some research experience and knowledge of cancer clinical trials. Operative experience in head and neck procedures would be considered desirable
Skills Essential criteria - All applicants able to demonstrate skills in written and spoken English that are adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues
- Good communications skills, ability to work as part as a team, take initiative and make decisions
Desirable criteria - Basic knowledge and interest in head & neck cancers

Flu Vaccination - What We Expect of our StaffAt The Royal Marsden we have an immune compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.
The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
