Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree level qualifications in healthcare, health education, public health or health promotion, youth work, other relevant degree, or deemed comparable experience or is a Registered general Nurse.
  • Able to work under PGD (patient groups directions) or PSD's (patient specific directions)


Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of working in management for role


Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience working within outreach and evidence of working with at risk groups.
  • Experience in delivering Health promotion campaigns
  • Evidence of using evidence-based practice within the outreach setting
  • Evidence of working with external stakeholders
  • Evidence of managing/co-ordinating teams
  • Able to demonstrate the importance of lesson planning and feedback
  • Able to comply written reports
  • Can evidence the application of local KPI's to outreach events


Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of local resolution of complaints
  • Holds a recognised management training qualification


Skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge on sexual health and sexual health strategies
  • Recognised teaching and assessing skills
  • Understand the need for clear and concise record keeping
  • Knowledge of NHS processes
  • Can adapt outreach strategies to meet the changing needs of the local population
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of local public health strategies
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience working within safeguarding children & adults
  • IT skills in word, excel and mail.
  • Able to use NHS EPR (electronic records) systems


Desirable criteria
  • Has undertaken or been part of a clinical audit

Essential criteria
  • Can demonstrate the use of diplomacy under pressure
  • Is empathic and compassionate


Desirable criteria
  • Car driver or willing to use public transport to get to outreach events
