The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) will provide expert specialist cancer nursing care within the CAT Team, supporting patients throughout the cancer pathway from diagnosis to treatment, follow-up and ongoing care. Working as part of the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will deliver high standards of patient-centred care, coordinate complex pathways, and provide clinical leadership within their area of expertise.

The role involves managing a defined caseload, acting as a key point of contact for patients and carers, and contributing to safe, effective and timely service delivery in line with national cancer standards, NICE guidance and Trust policies. The post plays a key role in maintaining service quality, continuity of care and patient safety.

• Ability to give clear and evidenced based oncological advice in a variety of settings
• Recognition of own level of competence and limitations and able to communicate these to appropriate staff
