Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced mental health professional to join Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust as a Band 7 CAMHS Clinical Lead within Children and Young People's Intensive Mental Health Services (CYPIMHS). The role is focused on providing clinical leadership, operational oversight, and expert decision-making within the CAMHS Crisis and Intensive Home Treatment Team (CCIHT) and CAMHS Paediatric In-Reach Service.

Working alongside fellow Clinical Leads, the Modern Matron, and the Service Manager, you will support the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective care for children and young people with complex, high-risk, and escalating mental health needs. You will play a key role in service development, clinical governance, workforce development, and quality improvement across CYPIMHS.

This post forms part of a compressed-hours Clinical Lead team delivering a seven-day leadership model. As part of a shared weekend and bank holiday rota, you will undertake the Duty Lead Clinician role across CYPIMHS, providing leadership and clinical oversight across CCIHT, CAMHS Paediatric In-Reach, Inspire CAMHS Inpatient Services, and the Eating Disorder Intensive Treatment Team (EDITT).

Main duties of the job

  • Provide clinical leadership, consultation and decision-making support for children and young people with complex, high-risk or escalating mental health needs.
  • Lead and coordinate care across services, pathways and agencies, ensuring effective communication, continuity of care and safe patient flow.
  • Support admission avoidance, discharge planning, repatriation and transition arrangements across the acute CAMHS pathway.
  • Represent CAMHS within multi-agency forums, including safeguarding processes, Dynamic Support Registers (DSRs) and Care, Education and Treatment Reviews (CETRs).
  • Work collaboratively with the Modern Matron to support clinical governance, patient safety, quality improvement and service development initiatives.
  • Provide supervision, mentorship and professional support to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in the shared weekend and bank holiday Duty Lead Clinician rota, acting as the Clinical Lead on Duty across CYPIMHS services and providing escalation support, operational leadership and oversight of risk and service pressures.
