About the Role

Leeds Conservatoire are seeking an inspiring and experienced Classical Vocal Lecturer to join our academic team, contributing to teaching across our BA and MA programmes.

The successful candidate will bring professional expertise, a strong understanding of classical vocal training, and a commitment to developing the next generation of performers. You will support students in achieving their artistic and academic potential through high-quality teaching, coaching and mentorship.

*Salary & annual leave advertised will be pro rata for the hours and weeks worked

What You Will Do
  • To deliver 1:1 lessons to vocal students on the Classical BA(Hons) and MA programmes
  • Deliver teaching, assessment setting and marking as agreed with the Academic Manager, Deputy Head or Head of Department, including timely administration, marking, feedback and submission of module results.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, assessment, monitoring and evaluation, ensuring alignment with academic and industry standards.
  • Undertake appropriate research, professional practice and scholarly activity, and contribute to the wider artistic and academic community, including meetings, recruitment, open days and performance events.
  • Comply with all organisational policies and procedures and undertake other appropriate academic duties as required.


About You
  • Degree in a related subject area
  • Professional experience and knowledge in the subject area
  • Strong communication skills, with a proven ability to engage, motivate, and support students through clear and inclusive teaching
  • Be collaborative and willing to work with a team of managers and lecturers to deliver an excellent student experience and contribute to a thriving work environment.
  • Good IT skills, with the ability to use standard digital platforms and systems effectively.
