Children's Residential Worker - Sunrise Children's Centre

Role Responsibility

Sunrise Children's Centre offers overnight short breaks for children and young people in West Kent, from the age of 5 to 18 years old, who have disabilities, including autism and complex medical health needs. We support children to have fun with their friends and peers, to learn skills, make choices, and to be supported in a safe and nurturing environment, so that they and their families can have a break.

We are seeking a Children's Residential Worker to work 25 hours per week, working on a 4 week rolling rota basis, including some evenings, 2 weekends per month and some Bank holidays.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, to be able to work as part of a busy team providing a high standard of care for the children and young people that we support, work with own initiative as well as with guidance. Working at a fast pace, always ensuring the child/young person's needs are kept paramount.

To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who is:

• Able to follow care plans whilst keeping them updated
• Able to support and assist children and young people with their personal care needs
• Able to create factual reports
• Willing to undertake training and put theory into practice
• Pro-active approach to own learning
• Able to communicate in an open and honest manner
• Able to organise and deliver new opportunities of recreational and social experiences for children and young people
• Has awareness of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015
• Holds a Diploma level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare, or equivalent, or be willing to work towards this
