Job Title: Central HR Wellbeing Advisor
Salary: The starting salary is £48,995, which includes allowances totalling £3,009.
The salary is broken down as £45,986 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £54,863. Plus, a location allowance of £2,009 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Purpose of the RoleThe Central HR Wellbeing Advisor team will be responsible for the management of local health and wellbeing activities across either the BCUs or OCUs, to support delivery of the New Met for London 2 wellbeing commitments and MPS Occupational Health and Wellbeing strategy.
Each Central HR Wellbeing Advisor will be required to either cover a BCU cluster (3 BCUs) or a cluster of OCUs across Met Operations, Specialist Crime or Professionalism and will play a key role to embed a formalised approach to standardise delivery of trauma risk management programmes: Trauma Peer Support (TPS), Trauma Informed Prevention Techniques (TIPT), Welfare Support Officers (WSO) and wellbeing provision. This will ensure alignment to the wellbeing governance structure and enable assurance against delivery of organisational priorities and national standards.
Working collaboratively with Superintendent Wellbeing leads, local Wellbeing coordinators, LROs, PPIT, OH & Wellbeing Team and key stakeholders, will be essential in driving forward a standardised wellbeing provision that effectively supports the health and wellbeing of our workforce.
The role holder will have responsibility for ensuring data reporting is complied with by local wellbeing coordinators to conduct analysis and insights to the OH & Wellbeing senior leadership team for assurance on a strategic level.
Key ResponsibilitiesWellbeing- Local Wellbeing point of contact: Responsibility for assigned BCU or OCU cluster, with geographical rotation to embed with local leadership teams and wellbeing co-ordinators to ensure regular engagement and collaborative working
- Assigned cluster point of contact for wellbeing and trauma risk related matters
- Working in collaboration with local stakeholders to ensure alignment to the MPS Health and Wellbeing strategy.
- Supporting implementation of MPS Health and Wellbeing Strategy within local plans
- Governance framework: Collate and report on local wellbeing activities, including Blue Light Champions (BLC) and Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA) to OHWB Wellbeing Manager to assure locally delivered wellbeing provision. Escalation of issues and emerging officer/staff welfare risks to the appropriate OH&WB SLT lead.
- Attendance at meetings as identified within wellbeing governance structure
- FLP BCU / OCU Risk Register: Collaborative working with Supt wellbeing lead / SLT wellbeing lead, to identify mitigations, lead with implementing and monitor to manage wellbeing risks identified.
- PPIT engagement: Partnership working with PPIT to ensure identified wellbeing and welfare concerns resulting from impact of absence management and HR process are raised and addressed.
- Met communities engagement: Liaison with respective leads to provide feedback from local insights and support with raising awareness of the Met communities
- Local wellbeing requests: manage local requests for OH and Wellbeing input; triage local requests for other wellbeing training services and input for CPD days.
- Local wellbeing activity: Manage proposed local wellbeing initiatives.
- Manage requests to access 3rd party charity services
- Support line managers in addressing OH service concerns/complaints and navigating appropriate referral pathways.
- Safety, Health and Wellbeing maturity matrix - wellbeing thematic: support Command with conducting audit and monitoring to achieve required standard
- Promoting support services: Identifying and signposting to internal and external wellbeing support pathways; educate and raise awareness of OH services.
- Command comms: Liaise with the Comms Lead, to coordinate and publish accurate, timely content on the Command SharePoint platform including promotion of wellbeing campaigns and national NPWS wellbeing Survey.
- Team resilience: Provide cover for other HR Wellbeing Advisors when required
- Line management responsibilities: HR Wellbeing Advisors working within a BCU cluster will line manage 3 local Wellbeing Coordinators
Trauma Risk Management- Trauma Peer Support Programme (TPS): Manage the surge of additional demand for TPS facilitators.
- Trauma Risk Management Programmes data reporting: Responsible for collating received data from the Commands' local wellbeing coordinators, to review and identify any risk and ensure appropriate escalations
- Continuous Improvement: Conduct trend analysis from the trauma risk management programmes to identify any trends that would impact the Command or Business Group and any organisational learning from incidents, required to be reported via governance structure.
- Major incidents: Support OH response to major incidents/operations
- Support for trained cadres: Responsible for overseeing wellbeing of TPS and WSO trained cadres is implemented
- Support wellbeing local coordinators with facilitation of training arrangements for trauma risk management programmes
- Op Hampshire cases: Oversee and monitor signposting and wellbeing support offered; identify areas for improvement
This role does not attract Shift Disturbance Allowance. If you are currently in a shift-working role, SDA should cease upon appointment to this job.
