If so, join our Catering Team as a Catering Assistant, where your work will directly support the daily well-being and health of the students who thrive here. Under the guidance of the Cook, you will assist in preparing nutritious meals, maintaining high standards of hygiene, and providing friendly service across the Riverview Federation.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve a range of healthy meals, snacks, and beverages in line with food safety guidelines.
- Set up dining areas, service counters, and clearing stations efficiently ahead of break and lunch times.
- Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, washing up equipment and sanitizing kitchen and dining spaces.
- Operate kitchen machinery, tills, and payment systems accurately during meal service.
- Assist with stock control, accepting deliveries, and ensuring correct food storage (rotation and temperature logging).
- Adhere strictly to allergen protocols, food safety legislation, and health and safety policies at all times.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Basic food preparation skills and a genuine interest in school catering.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety regulations (e.g., Food Safety Level 2, COSHH, allergen awareness).
- Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills when interacting with students and staff.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment and adapt flexibly to daily service needs.
