Job summary

CARDIACREHABILITATION

FITNESSINSTRUCTOR - BAND 5

PARTTIME - 14 HRS PER WEEK

FIXEDTERM - 6 MTHS

We are lookingfor a team player, with good communication skills, a professional attitude anda positive interest in cardiac patients to join our team.

You will need tohave a valid Phase IV BACPA qualification and be a CIMSPA member; current basic life supportcertificate a HSE approved First Aid at Work course and a diploma in fitness training and sports therapy orequivalent.

Your main dutieswill be to organise & lead exercise groups and clinical exerciseprescription under the supervision of the Cardiac Rehabilitation team.

You must be able to travel between Trust sites.

Main duties of the job

Tosupport the Specialist Nurse in Cardiac Rehabilitation in the supervision andexercise activity of patients attending Phase 3 Cardiac Rehab Programme.

Torecord patients pulse, blood pressure and fitness ability before, during andafter exercise.

Toprovide a period of time for relaxation.

Todiscuss any concerns regarding patients condition with the Specialist Nurseand report any abnormal findings.

Toassist with the ordering and maintenance of exercise equipment.

Tobe responsible for relevant health and safety matter in the areas worked.

Toattend relevant updates in Basic Life Support and Fire Protection.

Toattend relevant courses to ensure evidence based, effective cardiacrehabilitation programme.

Tomaintain place on Register of Exercise Professionals alongside BACPRCertificate at level 4.
