The University of Cambridge SU runs its annual Freshers' Fair forstudents on Parker's Piece in Cambridge; approximately 18,000 people attendover the two days. The Freshers' Fair is a chance to showcase everythingCambridge has to offer new and current University of Cambridge students, particularly for studentsocieties to engage with students.

Pay Rate: £13.45 p/hr

Location: Cambridge

Dates: The fair will take place on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th October 2026. We are seeking ARU students willing to commit to assist us in running the fair at a range of times (from 7am until 7.30pm across both days).

Compulsory Paid Training on campus: Wednesday 30th September 15.00-16.00 (You mustbe available for this mandatory training session if you want to work any of the daysbelow)

Monday 5th October:

• 10.00-16.00 (Setting up for the fair)

Tuesday 6th October:

• 07:00 - 15:00
• 07.00 - 12.00
• 08:00 - 12:00
• 08:00 - 14:00
• 08.00 - 16.00
• 09.00 - 13.00
• 11.00 - 16.00
• 15.30 - 19.00

Wednesday 8th October:

• 09:00 - 14:00
• 10.00 - 16.00
• 10:00 - 18.00
• 12:00 - 16:00
• 15.30 - 19.30

Duties will be very varied but examples include:

• Replenishing fair supplies
• Lifting tables
• Monitoring toilets
• Answering questions of visitors and stall-holders
• Directing queues and vehicles, and responding to any manner of problems as they arise;

There'll be lots of standing around inside themarquee, outdoors on Parker's Piece and time spent on your feet, but theenvironment is buzzing and fun.

We'll expect temps to muck-in and be part of a much larger team helping tobring the event to life. The placement is expected to be enjoyable and requiresStewards to have a positive attitude and enjoy the experience; be helpful andhard-working; and capable of responding to simple instructions with asmile!.
