This permanent role has a starting salary of £34,660 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week. We are excited to be hiring a new
Business Systems and Data Quality Officer to join our Business Systems and Digital Team. As a Systems Officer, you will support the implementation and maintenance of business systems, collaborate with colleagues to improve digital processes and provide technical expertise across departments.
In this role, you will help ensure our Adult Social Care systems are reliable, easy to use and support staff to record and access the information they need. Your work will help colleagues deliver effective services and contribute to better experiences and outcomes for Surrey residents.
We support hybrid working with the right balance. We come together in person at least once a week, with additional in-person days as required by our roles and support working from home the rest of the time.

About the teamThe purpose of the Business Systems and Digital Team is to ensure that the digital systems used in Adult Social Care work well, are easy to use, and help staff do their jobs efficiently. We support staff with training and guidance so they can record the right information at the right time. We are always looking for ways to improve our systems and how we work, to better serve Surrey residents.

We are looking for someone who shares our commitment to improving services for residents and who brings a collaborative, curious and solution-focused approach. You will listen to others, communicate clearly, take ownership of tasks and be motivated by making systems easier and more effective for the people who use them.
On a typical day, you will help ensure our systems run smoothly, respond to queries about user access and system functionality, and work with colleagues to resolve issues. During test cycles, you will collaborate with the development team to support testing and contribute to system improvements. You will also create and maintain user guides, internal documentation and SharePoint content, as well as support user training for new processes and system enhancements.
This role focuses on maintaining and advancing our Adult Social Care sourcing systems and supporting third-party applications. By doing so, you will help provide tailored solutions to meet the needs of our residents and enhance the care provided. Your work will help support good value for money through commissioned services.
Your ApplicationTo be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence the following skills and align with our behaviours:
- Experience using IT systems and digital tools, including supporting users and working with platforms such as SharePoint.
- A working knowledge of the different stages of managing and improving systems.
- Ability to analyse information, feedback or data, identify issues and develop practical, creative solutions that improve ways of working.
- Strong communication skills, including producing clear, concise documentation and user guidance, and explaining systems, processes or new ways of working to different audience.
- Experience of building positive relationships, understanding stakeholder needs and working across teams to achieve shared goals.
- A commitment to service improvement, delivering user-focused outcomes and supporting value for money through commissioned services.

This role is currently employed by Surrey County Council and will remain so until then.
