The vacancyHours: Full time - 35 hours per week/ 70 hours over two weeks (nine-day fortnight)The roleWe are currently looking to recruit a PFI Business Accountant focusing our Oldham PFI contract.
Within the role you will provide a highly professional management accounting, financial support and business partnering service.
You will provide relevant financial management information and support required for effective operational oversight and decision making e.g. in regard to profitability, debt management, KPIs, capex, investment options, contract management and supplier management.
While the role is home based the successful candidate will be required to attend team meetings at our head office in Birmingham as required.

What we're looking forWe're looking for a PFI accountant who can support the financial management of the PFI contract and work closely with the operational team. Experience in the Housing Sector would be preferred.
The essential requirements for the role include:
Knowledge and experience of
- PFI or contract accounting experience (Housing Sector)
- Monthly management accounts, budgeting, and forecasting
- Preparing and presenting monthly financial results, forecasts and key issues to senior management and Executive teams
- Reviewing and maintaining the contract financial model
- Monitoring contractual performance, including KPI deductions and service failure deductions from the Council, and assessing their financial impact
- Analysing financial performance and explaining variances
- Business partnering with the operational team to support decision making
- Identifying financial risks and opportunities
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to communicate with non-finance stakeholders
Qualifications and training
- Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA/CA graduate calibre finance professional, or equivalent relevant experience (essential)
