We are recruiting a Bricklayer at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37
Contract Type: 8 x Full Time, Permanent
Location: Site Based - Various Locations in the Borough

Team: Asset Maintenance and Repairs

This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organisation.

We pay an attractive salary of £29,540 - £31,022 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

Caerphilly County Borough Council has an exciting opportunity for 8 x Bricklayers to join our Asset Maintenance and Repairs team.

The successful candidates will carry out a wide range of building maintenance and improvement works across domestic and un‑tenanted properties throughout the Borough.

You will be responsible for pre‑inspecting and diagnosing repair requirements using the Maintenance Schedule of Rates, ensuring the effective use of materials, resources and plant. All works must be completed safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales.

A strong focus on quality, customer satisfaction and considerate working practices is essential to this role.

For the role, we ask that you have:
  • Completed a recognised time served apprenticeship and/or completion of an accredited Building Craft Training scheme and/or an NVQ Level 2 qualification in an appropriate trade.
  • Knowledge of relevant Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Safe Systems of Work and Health and Safety issues relating to the post.
  • Relevant experience within a repairs, maintenance, refurbishment or new build environment.
  • Full Category B (Cars) driving licence to drive a Council vehicle (van)
