Are you passionate about ensuring every child has the best possible start in life?

We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Best Start Inclusion Practice Lead to lead and develop our inclusion offer across the Best Start Family Hub network. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and influence services that support children aged 0-5 with emerging or additional needs, ensuring early identification, timely intervention and inclusive practice across the system.

As a key member of the Best Start leadership team, you will provide operational leadership to a team of Inclusion Practitioners and work collaboratively with families, early years providers, health professionals, SEND services and community partners to improve outcomes for children and their families.

About the Role

As the Best Start Inclusion Practice Lead, you will:
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of the 0-5 SEND and Inclusion offer across Family Hubs.
  • Ensure high-quality, evidence-based support that enables early identification and intervention for children with emerging developmental and SEND needs.
  • Provide leadership, supervision and support to a team of Best Start Inclusion Practitioners.
  • Build workforce confidence in recognising and responding to developmental needs at the earliest opportunity.
  • Drive strong multi-agency partnerships across health, education, SEND and community services.
  • Use data, quality assurance and family feedback to improve outcomes and reduce inequalities.
  • Champion inclusive, strengths-based, relational and trauma-informed practice throughout the system.

About You

We're looking for an individual who:
  • Has significant experience working with children and families where SEND or inclusion needs are present.
  • Has experience leading, supervising or developing practitioners and teams.
