Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Main Duties:
  • Management of Clinical Education and Training provision across the organisation; this includes includes the planning, delivery and evaluation of professional education and training activities, training programmes, continuing professional development, induction and skills training for the clinical workforce.
  • Provide specialist knowledge and advice and guidance for assurance and delivery of clinical and training programmes, and oversight of competency reporting.
  • Work with the Nursing Education Lead, clinical tutors, speciality leads, external trainers and library services to monitor, evaluate and develop high quality, evidence based clinical education.
  • Implement and monitor all relevant legislation and policies and/or procedures as identified by the organisation into the appropriate training and development programmes.
  • Ensuring the delivery and appropriate development of quality assured, competency based clinical development programmes and assessment.
  • Manage clinical development programmes, ensuring full engagement with all the relevant divisions, identifying the clinical competence that is required to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Ensure data collection and reporting processes are in place for quality assurance and governance.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Clinician
  • Educated to degree level
  • Educated to Master degree level or equivalent
  • Evidence of continuing professional development


Experience

Essential criteria
  • Relevant experience of working with broad spectrum of Clinical Divisions and Clinical workforce development
  • Relevant experience of clinical education management
  • Relevant experience of working with Higher Education Institutions and external partners
  • Relevant experience of managing and developing appropriate databases


Skills/Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Ability to handle sensitive and complex information
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • High level of IT literacy to include Microsoft word, excel and power point
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • High level of negotiating and influencing skills
  • Knowledge of academic curriculum management
