Job summary

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Research Nurse to join our expanding Theatre and Anaesthetics Clinical Research Team.This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the delivery of peri-operative research studies and support improvements in patient care and outcomes.This is a full-time, permanent position (1.0 WTE), based at St James's University Hospital, with cross-site working at Leeds General Infirmary and Chapel Allerton Hospital.The successful candidate will play a key role in the coordination, conduct and delivery of the peri-operative research portfolio, supporting the safe and effective implementation of clinical studies.The post holder will be responsible for maintaining high standards of clinical care, patient safety and patient experience, while ensuring compliance with Trust policies, study protocols, relevant legislation, and local and national research governance requirements.For an informal discussion about the role, prospective applicants are encouraged to contact the recruiting manager.
Main duties of the job

The Theatre and Anaesthetics Research Team is a well-established and supportive multidisciplinary team delivering a diverse portfolio ofperi-operative research studies across Leeds Teaching Hospitals.Working across St James's University Hospital, Leeds General Infirmary and Chapel Allerton Hospital, we are committed to improving patient outcomes through high-quality research that influences clinical practice both locally and nationally.Our team prides itself on a collaborative, inclusive and patient-centred approach, where staff are encouraged to develop their skills, contribute ideas and take an active role in shaping the future of research delivery.You will work alongside experienced research nurses, practitioners, clinicians and study teams who are passionate about delivering excellent care and advancing evidence-based practice.Whether you are new to research or looking to further develop your research career, you will receive support, mentorship and access to training to help you succeed in the role.If you are looking for a rewarding position where you can combine clinical expertise with research, work within a small, friendly and dedicated team, and make a meaningful difference to patient care, we would be delighted to hear from you.

What you will bring to the role
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the advancement of clinical research. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with patients, carers and multidisciplinary colleagues.

You will be able to manage competing priorities within a busy clinical environment, work independently when required, and maintain a high level of attention to detail. A proactive approach, commitment to research governance, and enthusiasm for improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practice are essential.

Experience within peri-operative care, theatres, anaesthetics, critical care or clinical research would be advantageous, however applications are welcomed from individuals with a genuine interest in developing a career in research. The ability to adapt to a varied workload and contribute positively to a collaborative team environment is key to success in this role.
