The vacancyHours: 35 hours per weekShift Pattern: Full time - 35 hours per week/ 70 hours over two weeks (nine-day fortnight)The roleStart your career in audit, risk and governance while gaining a professional qualification.We're looking for an enthusiastic Audit and Risk Apprentice to join our Internal Audit and Risk team and gain valuable hands-on experience in how organisations identify, manage and respond to risk.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn on the job, receive coaching and work towards a relevant professional qualification, while developing practical skills across internal audit, risk management, compliance, governance and assurance.
You'll support audit reviews, risk assessments, data analysis and assurance reporting, as well as helping maintain the Board Assurance Framework. You'll learn how to assess risks, evaluate controls and contribute to providing independent assurance that helps the organisation achieve its objectives.
With a combination of practical experience, formal study and professional development, this apprenticeship will provide a strong foundation for a rewarding career in Internal Audit, Risk Management, Governance, Compliance or Assurance.
While the role is home based the successful candidate will be required to attend team meetings at our head office in Birmingham as required, as well as occasional travel to Housing 21 Schemes nationally.

What we're looking forThe essential requirements for the role include:
- Interest in audit, risk management, governance, compliance, or business assurance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with numerical and qualitative information accurately
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience of managing multiple priorities and tasks
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent
- Eligible to undertake a Level 4 Internal Audit Practitioner Apprenticeship
