We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the admin team within the Audiology department.

The role will involve being part of the team that provides a comprehensive administration services to support all functions of the Audiology Department in delivering an effective service and to support patients and patient carers.

The post holder will be required to undertake a range of tasks including effective referral management, accurate data input on the relevant clinical system/s, agreeing and booking of appointments, dealing with patient and service related queries, and the monitoring of waiting lists

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE standard include English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above*
  • Vocational qualification level 3*
Desirable

  • Customer care/Communications Skills Course

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative including working to tight deadlines and prioritising work effectively
  • Professional telephone manner
  • Ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office packages
Experience

Essential

  • Previous secretarial/office experience
  • Experience of working face to face and/or telephone contact with the general public
  • Experience of prioritising work and meeting deadlines
Desirable

  • Experience of working within an office based NHS setting
Knowledge

  • Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality
  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office packages, including use of Excel and Power-point, internet, e-mail etc...
