Salary £50,151 - £55,338.00

Required from September 2022 (or as early as possible), we are looking to appoint 2 full time, outstanding and experienced Assistant Service Leads to join the Communication and Autism Team (CAT).

These exciting opportunities will be to join a well-established team supporting children and young people with communication and autism needs between the ages of 3-25 in mainstream and resource base provision. As part of the Leadership Team you will oversee the provision for the CAT advisory team across a locality area, whilst holding responsibility for specific performance foci within the Communication and Autism Team. You will take the lead on key areas identified within the CAT Service and contribute to the overall SEND programme across the Birmingham City Council directorate.

CAT are the West Midlands Autism Education Trust training hub and, as such, delivering training is an essential part of the role. We work closely with families and partner agencies to support children and young people with autism to achieve their potential in schools and colleges, both academically and socially, ensuring their opportunities are as broad as possible on transition to adulthood. We are committed to understanding autism as difference rather than deficit.
