Job overview

Assistant Sleep Technologist (Fixed Term 12 Months)

To perform a range of diagnostic tests and procedures both supervised and unsupervised and assist with the day to day running of the Sleep Laboratory including compliance monitoring and data collection with on the job training and assessment.

Main duties of the job

To assist in day to day running of sleep department. including: Downloading, cleaning and setting up CPAP and diagnostic kits for patients.

Assisting Patient enquires on telephone and Face to Face. appointments.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Science based GCSE(s) or other science-based qualification
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills English and Maths GCSE or equivalent
  • NVQ2 in care / relevant subject or equivalent level of knowledge and experience


Desirable criteria
  • Interest and desire to learn and commitment to ongoing training and development.


Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience of dealing with public and or patients


Desirable criteria
  • Experience in healthcare environment
  • Experience of working in a hospital clinical setting


Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

  • Good communication skills both verbal and non-verbal
  • Good IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Outlook
