We are recruiting an Assistant Engineerat Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Highways House, Penmaen
Team: Highway Engineering

We pay an attractive salary of £39,152 - £41,771 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

Are you an experienced engineering professional looking to help shape and maintain the county borough's highway infrastructure? We are looking for a proactive Assistant Engineer to join our Network Contracting Services team.

In this varied role, you will support the delivery of highway maintenance, resurfacing, footway refurbishment and civil engineering projects, helping to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You will play a key role in managing resources, coordinating site activities, monitoring budgets and identifying innovative, value-for-money solutions.

For the role, we ask that you have:

• A relevant Level 4 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales.
• Knowledge and experience of construction contracts, specifications and law.
• Experience of highway construction or maintenance.
• A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence.
