The role of the Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) is critical to the operation of the Mental Health Act.

We require 2 Advanced Social Work Practitioner/Approved Mental Health Professionals to workover three 12 hours shifts per week. The post will support the rest of the team whom also work a 12 hour shift pattern. The AMHP service is a 24 hours service.

Here at the Improving Lives, Countywide AMHP Team we are looking to recruit a skilled and enthusiastic people who are committed to delivering a high-quality Mental Health Service using a strength-based approach to practice.

The role includes meeting the local authorities' statutory duties in line with mental health legislation, whilst also supporting and coaching colleagues across the wider system on matters relating to mental health. You will partake in a single point Triage system, provide training and supervision to others, including AMHP Trainees, support the Team Managers in their role, and fulfil the ever-challenging demands placed upon the team.
