Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly organised and motivated individual to join the Ophthalmology Admin Service as a AMD co-coordinator/Retina Outpatient Booking clerk. The post holder will play a vital role in supporting the Retina Service by ensuring patients are booked into Outpatient appointments and treatment clinics in a timely and efficient manner. The days are Tuesday and Wednesday 9am - 5pm.

Main duties of the job

To work with the Eye Clinic department staff in providing a comprehensive and professional administrative service supporting all the clerical duties.
To act as the first point of contact for any queries regarding IV injections/OCT scans, from patients relatives, other health care professional and visitors.
To work as part of a team of self motivated individuals in developing and co-ordinating the Intravitreal Injection appointment booking System and to support the Senior Sister.

To co-ordinate all aspects of the patients Intravitreal injection out-patients appointments
To co-ordinate all relevant changes plus the updating of these changes in information in the scheduling system and on PAS OASIS to ensure all further links in the patient healthcare chain are fully informed.
To co-ordinate telephone booking, replacement of cancelled appointment to ensure full utilisation of Intravitreal injection out-patient booking slots.
