Additional Learning Needs Co-ordinator (ALNCo) with a teaching commitment in our Speech & Language Resource Base
Are you an inspirational teacher passionate about inclusion and committed to ensuring every child reaches their full potential? The Governing Body of Malpas Court is a seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and forward-thinking ALNCo to join our Senior Leadership Team, with a teaching commitment within one of our Speech & Language Resource Base classes.

Our vision is to provide an outstanding education within an inclusive, happy and safe environment, where every child can flourish. Our approach to ALN is built around partnership, inclusion and early intervention, with strong links to families and external agencies.

The successful candidate will:

• Lead and develop high-quality ALN provision across the school.
• Be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to whole-school strategic development and improvement.
• Coordinate the identification, assessment and monitoring of pupils with ALN.
• Lead the development and review of Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
• Promote inclusive teaching and learning and support staff development.
• Work closely with pupils, parents/carers, the Local Authority and external agencies.
• Teach within one of our two Speech & Language Resource Base (SLRB) classes, working alongside experienced teaching assistants and speech and language professionals.
• Support the continued development of our SLRB and the inclusion of pupils within the wider school community.
• Contribute to whole-school improvement and professional learning.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a highly effective qualified teacher with strong teaching experience.
• Has a thorough understanding of the ALN Code for Wales and ALN reforms.
• Has experience, or a strong interest, in supporting pupils with speech, language and communication needs.
• Is passionate about inclusion and removing barriers to learning.
• Has excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills.
• Can build positive relationships with pupils, families, staff and external professionals.
• Has high expectations for every learner and a commitment to their wellbeing and achievement.
• Is ready to contribute positively and strategically as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

The appointment process will involve a lesson observation, following which successful candidates will be invited to attend an interview and tasks.
