Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Science at the University of South Wales as an Aircraft Maintenance Technical Demonstrator (Mechanical). This role will support the delivery of practical teaching for our aviation courses, working closely with academic staff to provide an engaging and high-quality learning
environment for students.

Based at the University's Treforest Campus, you will play a vital part in maintaining and operating our aviation hangar and composite repair workshop. The role involves demonstrating aircraft maintenance procedures, supporting student learning activities, and ensuring the safe
and efficient use of hangar and workshop facilities and equipment. Knowledge of composite repairs and experience working in a Part-145 approved aircraft maintenance environment would be advantageous.

You will:
• Deliver practical classes and demonstrations related to aircraft maintenance;
• Provide technical guidance to students during workshop and hangar sessions; and
• Prepare materials and resources for student training.

We are looking for a candidate who is:
• Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic teaching environment;
• Organised, proactive, and committed to maintaining high standards in engineering practices; and
• Passionate about transferring knowledge and skills to a diverse, multicultural student cohort.

You'll join a collaborative, supportive, and forward-thinking team that's dedicated to student success in aerospace education. Your expertise will directly contribute to developing the next generation of aviation professionals. This is a full time, permanent post.

For an informal conversation about this post please contact Martyn Griffiths, H&S and Technical Operations Manager ([email protected])

If you are a successful candidate and this position will be your first professional services role at the University (or you are currently employed by PSS Ltd), you will be employed by Professional
and Support Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of South Wales, which provides services to the University and Colleges.
