At Nottinghamshire County Council, we are deeply rooted in our community. We strive to support our residents in living with dignity, choice, and independence. Our commitment to our staff is equally strong, ensuring that everyone feels valued and empowered to grow.

Join our Maximising Independence Service (MIS) North, where we focus on helping individuals achieve their goals through early intervention and personalised support. Covering the areas of Bassetlaw and Newark, our service is dedicated to promoting wellbeing and independence. We are looking for a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, who is an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP), Best Interests Assessor (BIA), and Practice Educator (Level 2). This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary team and make a real difference in people's lives.

As an Advanced Social Work Practitioner, you will:
  • Lead and Inspire: Provide professional supervision and mentoring to team members.
  • Manage with Care: Oversee incoming referrals, allocate work, and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Champion Change: Act as a practice lead, promoting evidence-based and person-centred approaches.
  • Handle Complexity: Carry a reduced caseload of complex cases, including safeguarding and mental health assessments.
  • Collaborate Effectively: Chair multi-agency meetings and foster strong partnerships with other agencies.

To thrive in this role, you will need:
  • A Social Work Qualification recognised by Social Work England.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Approved status as an AMHP, BIA, or Practice Educator (Level 2).
  • A solid understanding of adult safeguarding and relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014.

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
  • Leadership: Ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of making decisions in complex situations.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills to build relationships with colleagues and service users.
  • Commitment to Inclusion: A dedication to fairness, respect, and dignity in all interactions.

At Nottinghamshire County Council, we offer:
  • A supportive and skilled multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Ongoing training and coaching, including annual appraisals and CPD opportunities.
  • Flexible working arrangements with the latest technology to support hybrid work.
  • A generous annual leave package and a comprehensive pension scheme.
  • A friendly workplace where everyone is valued and supported.
