Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.
Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.
We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.
Job overviewStep into a key administrative role supporting patient care across Broomfield Hospital. Although hosted within the Burns, Plastic Surgery and Dermatology Division, this role supports patient pathways across multiple specialties and services.
We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented individual to support the validation, cleansing and correction of waiting list data across diagnostic, planned care and inpatient pathways.
Working closely with service managers, clinicians, booking teams and patient access colleagues, you will help ensure patient records are accurate, support pathway validation and assist with resolving data quality issues. You will also help ensure outpatient activity is appropriately recorded and outstanding appointments are cashed up in a timely manner.
The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills, strong attention to detail and confidence using computer systems. You will be able to manage your own workload, prioritise effectively and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Previous administrative experience is essential. Experience within the NHS and knowledge of RTT, diagnostic pathways or patient administration systems would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.

Main duties of the jobPlay a vital role in supporting safe and effective patient care by joining the Trust as an Admin Support colleague. In this important role, you will provide a comprehensive, flexible and efficient administrative service, helping teams across Broomfield Hospital to maintain accurate waiting list and pathway information. Although hosted within the Burns, Plastic Surgery & Dermatology Division, the role supports hospital-wide operational priorities.
Your work will be essential in ensuring patient records and pathway data are accurate, up to date and managed in line with Trust priorities. You will use appropriate Trust systems to capture, update and validate information, monitor reports, complete assigned tasks within agreed timescales and support the timely escalation of any data quality or pathway issues.
Working both independently and as part of a wider team, you will follow established processes while using your initiative to respond to daily demands. Strong communication skills will be key, as you will work with operational, clinical, booking and patient access teams across multiple specialties to support consistent validation and accurate patient pathway management.

Person specificationQualifications Essential criteria - GCSE in Maths and English
