Job summary

The Nursing Professional Standards and Workforce Team is seeking an administrator for 30 hours a week.

As part of corporate nursing, you will be providing administrative support to the Assistant Director of Nursing and Heads of Nursing based in the team and working closely with the Business Support Manager.

The Nursing Professional Standards & Workforce Team have offices in Carmarthen and Haverfordwest and you will be able to work flexible hours across the week at either location. There will also be an opportunity for some of these hours to be worked from home.

As an Administrative Officer, you will play an important role in supporting the department by providing a high-quality administrative and secretarial service. Working both independently and as part of a wider team, you will help ensure the smooth day-to-day running, while always maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Main duties of the job

You will use a variety of IT systems and software packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Teams, to support a range of administrative activities. This role involves communicating with colleagues across a large team who support nursing workforce planning, regulation, education and training, so strong communication and organisational skills are essential.

Your day-to-day duties will include arranging meetings and appointments, helping to organise events, maintaining accurate records and databases, and supporting meetings by preparing agendas, taking minutes and monitoring action points. You will also assist with general office administration, including document management, photocopying and ordering supplies through Oracle and other procurement systems.

This is a varied and rewarding role that would suit someone who is organised, proactive and enjoys providing excellent administrative support in a busy and supportive team environment.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.

We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.
