About the Role

The Intelligence Researcher will play a key role within the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU), proactively collating, researching, evaluating, developing, and disseminating high-quality intelligence. The postholder will support the effective and efficient deployment of ACU resources, helping to minimise risks to staff, the organisation, and the public. This work is central to identifying, tackling, and mitigating corruption and serious malpractice within Merseyside Police.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
  • Education to Level 3 (QCF) or equivalent, and/or experience in a research support role.
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, and organisational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • An understanding of overt and covert police operations to support ACU activity.
  • Knowledge of the organisational structure and departmental functions within policing.
  • The ability to work under pressure, manage a demanding workload, and use initiative.
  • Confidence using relevant systems, with a willingness to undertake training on ACU-specific systems.
