• Contribute to the ongoing development of Advanced Clinical Practice across the Trust, ensuring alignment with relevant national and regional frameworks.
• Contribute to the delivery of the Royal Marsden School's strategic vision by supporting the development of innovative, evidence-based education that transforms cancer care.
• Maintain, monitor and develop academic and educational excellence for the MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice in Cancer Care programme.
• Lead on the audit and evaluation of Advanced Practice roles in the Trust.
• Maintain and develop personal clinical expertise, credibility, and professional development in line with requirements of relevant professional body and the NHS England Multi professional framework for advanced practice.

Person specification

Education/Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Registered Health Care Professional.
• MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent clinical experience.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development to demonstrate advanced clinical decision making.
• Qualified Non-Medical Prescriber
• Cancer Specialist Qualification

Desirable criteria

• Recognised Teaching Qualification recordable with NMC or other professional body
• Fellowship of HEA Clinical Supervision or coaching qualification
• Leadership and/or management qualification

Experience

Essential criteria

• Experience of teaching and supervising learning in higher education or in a formal practice setting.
• Recent expert clinical practice.
• Experience of clinical leadership role during career.
• Substantial post registration experience and be able to demonstrate significant experience as a qualified ACP.
• Experience of research and quality improvement.
• Evidence of leading change across at organisational level.

Desirable criteria

• Experience of SACT
• Experience of acute oncology
• Experience of curriculum development and preparing for validation events
• Experience of quality assurance processes in higher education and for HEE

Knowledge

Essential criteria

• Knowledge/experience of teaching/supervision in a variety of settings
• Experience of strategic educational development
• Knowledge of research methods and processes
• Current knowledge of health/education policies/standards and requirements from Professional bodies.
• Knowledge of HEE ACP multi professional framework
• Knowledge of workplace clinical supervision for ACP
• Knowledge of health care/educational leadership
• Knowledge of clinical assessment and decision making.

Desirable criteria

• Knowledge of current care of individuals with cancer

Flu Vaccination - What We Expect of our Staff

At The Royal Marsden we have an immune compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.

The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
