We're a dynamic underwriting and distribution business backed by the strength of Gallagher and powered by a belief that every challenge has a solution. With entrepreneurial energy, niche expertise, and a bold growth mindset, we're transforming what it means to be an MGA in today's insurance landscape. Whether you're shaping new products, solving complex problems, or collaborating across teams, your ideas and initiative will help deliver smarter solutions for our clients-and move the industry forward. Here, agility meets stability. Creativity meets execution. And your career meets real opportunity. At Pen, we champion innovation, value accountability, and thrive on building something better together. If you're looking to join a team that's rewriting the future of underwriting, we'd love to hear from you.

Overview

Founded by petrochemical specialists over 35 years ago, OAMPS has built a strong reputation for providing expert insurance and risk management solutions to hazardous and environmental industries. Working across sectors including fuels, chemicals, wastewater, and environmental contracting, OAMPS has long-standing partnerships with industry bodies such as UKIFDA (and formerly the FPS), supporting fuel distributors with tailored insurance solutions aligned to their specific risks.

Today, OAMPS supports clients across the full lifecycle of their operations - from manufacture and import/export through to storage, haulage, installation, and servicing - delivering comprehensive protection that evolves with their business needs. From single-vehicle operators to large, complex organisations, OAMPS arranges both conventional and bespoke programmes, covering everything from assets and liabilities to cyber, balance sheet, and environmental impairment risks.

We're now looking for a knowledgeable and client-focused Account Manager to join the team. This is a varied and fast-paced role, where you'll support Account Executives while also taking ownership of your own portfolio of clients, ensuring they are exceptionally well looked after at every stage.

If you take pride in delivering a high standard of service, enjoy building relationships, and want to deepen your expertise in specialist insurance sectors, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your career in a dynamic environment.

The role can be office-based or hybrid, with only occasional time required in the office. As part of a collaborative and experienced team, you'll gain exposure to complex risks across the fuel, hazardous haulage, chemical, and environmental markets - broadening your knowledge while making a meaningful impact for your clients.

How you'll make an impact

  • Working in partnership with our Account Executives and managing your own portfolio to meet the demands and needs of our clients, as well as securing new clients.
  • Negotiating terms with insurers, building renewal documentation, processing mid-term adjustments and crafting compelling proposals for new and existing clients.
  • Ensure client details are recorded accurately and entered onto Acturis quickly; this allows us to keep all client records accurate for audit purposes.
  • Assist your clients with queries, confirm cover with the insurers, process policies and chase outstanding documentation when required.
  • Manage all account queries and credit control matters, highlighting any concerns to your line manager promptly.

About you

  • Interpersonal skills and a dedication to customer excellence is essential, as this is an awareness of the importance of maximising opportunities.
  • Preferably Cert CII qualified.
  • Having worked to targets within a regulated, measurable framework and achieved SLA's.
  • Preferable previous experience of Acturis is desirable.
  • Worked in teams servicing both clients and colleagues; with excellent customer service skills and the ability to negotiate.
  • Risk aware with strong planning and analytical skills along with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.

Compensation and benefits

At Gallagher, we believe supporting our colleagues goes far beyond the role itself. For more information, visit our Benefits page.
  • Competitive compensation
  • Comprehensive benefits programs designed to support your well-being
  • Career development opportunities and ongoing learning
  • A collaborative, people-first culture with accessible leadership
  • The opportunity to do meaningful work with global reach and local impact

At Gallagher, we are dedicated to building an inclusive and authentic workplace. If your past experience doesn't align perfectly, we encourage you to join our Talent Community to stay connected to additional career opportunities. Although this role is listed as full-time, if you're in a job-share partnership, work reduced hours, or have any other flexible arrangement, please still get in touch. We will also offer reasonable adjustments to the recruitment process if required, so please let us know.
