About the Role

Are you a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding part-time opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school, where you will provide dedicated support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs and play a key role in their academic, social, emotional, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide dedicated one-to-one support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs, helping them access the curriculum and engage positively in learning.
• Support the pupil through personalised strategies, adapted resources, and targeted interventions.
• Develop a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil, promoting confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing.
• Support the pupil with communication, social interaction, sensory needs, and emotional regulation where required.
• Promote positive behaviour and help the pupil develop their independence and life skills.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, parents, and wider school team to support the pupil's progress and wellbeing.
• Monitor and record the pupil's progress, providing feedback to teachers and other relevant professionals.
• Adapt support to meet the pupil's individual needs and respond positively to changing circumstances.
• Create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment that encourages engagement and participation.
• Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements
• Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs.
• A good understanding of SEN, with experience supporting needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, or other additional needs.
• Experience providing one-to-one support in an educational, care, or similar setting is desirable.
• A patient, compassionate, and nurturing approach to supporting pupils.
• The ability to build positive relationships and provide consistent emotional and educational support.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A calm, flexible, and adaptable approach to supporting individual pupil needs.
• A genuine commitment to supporting pupils' academic, social, emotional, and personal development.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
