A First-of-a-Kind Facility: The Box Encapsulation Plant

On the Box Encapsulation Plant, we are delivering a nationally significant facility that uses robotics to package radioactive waste into stainless steel boxes. We are now entering a critical phase as we commission the facility and prepare for operational handover. At its peak, this first-of-a-kind project brought together around 1,200 people, including designers, engineers, project managers and highly skilled craft professionals.

Building Britain's Clean Energy Future: Hinkley Point C

We play a key role at Hinkley Point C, delivering the critical safety buildings that house the control rooms and systems which monitor and ensure safe reactor operation. Recently, we completed the Unit 1 structural builds, protecting the nuclear island from the elements and enabling the next phase of works. This is modern construction: building the capability to deliver Britain's clean energy future.

De-risking Advanced Nuclear

We have built a new purpose-designed facility and brought together specialist expertise to support nuclear reactor development and the fusion industry. Recently, we established a comprehensive molten fuel salt synthesis and characterisation programme to support developers around the world. It is innovative work that helps de-risk advanced nuclear and supports the future of clean energy.

A Landmark for UK Manufacturing and National Security

One of our programme leads is delivering a major programme for a client that will come to life in the 2030s. The team is deep in the design phase, prototyping key equipment and preparing for manufacturing at scale. In April 2026, they hit a landmark two years in the making, strengthening UK manufacturing with the first purpose-built glove box facility in a generation: a one-of-a-kind capability critical to UK national security.

Making Fusion Achievable: ITER

At ITER, Amentum is providing support to build the world's largest fusion device, helping prove fusion's potential as a carbon-free, nearly limitless source of energy. We provide construction management services for the Tokamak, its beating heart, and we are currently assembling sectors of an 8,000-tonne chamber at record pace. It is bold, complex work, making fusion more achievable, relevant and cost-effective for the future.
