Early Career Professionals (ECP) Network at Mott MacDonald

Empowering the next generation of talent

At Mott MacDonald, we’re committed to nurturing the people who will shape the future of our business and our industry. Our Early Career Professionals (ECP) Network brings together colleagues in the early stages of their careers and provides them with the connections, development opportunities, and support they need to thrive.

Who is the ECP Network for?

The ECP network is open to colleagues typically within their first 10 years of their career, usually within staff grades A–E (entry- to mid‑level, non‑shareholders). Whether someone joins as a graduate, apprentice, intern, career‑changer or early professional from another organisation, the network gives them an inclusive space to grow and feel part of our global community.

What the ECP Network Offers

Networking & Community

The ECP network helps connect early career colleagues across disciplines, teams, offices, and regions. This includes:

  • Cross‑discipline networking events
  • Local and regional ECP chapters
  • Opportunities to collaborate and share knowledge
  • A supportive environment where ideas and questions are welcome

Development & Growth

We empower our early career professionals with learning opportunities that help build confidence and capability, including:

  • Skill‑building workshops
  • Knowledge‑sharing sessions led by technical and leadership specialists
  • Industry insights and guest speaker events

These sessions equip colleagues with the foundations they need to progress and make an impact.

Mentoring & Support

Through mentoring programmes and informal peer support, ECPs gain guidance from experienced professionals across Mott MacDonald. These relationships help build networks, confidence, and clearer career direction.

Social & Engagement Activities

Our ECP chapters also host a variety of social events—ranging from informal meet‑ups to volunteer initiatives—helping people build friendships and strengthen their sense of belonging.

How the Network Works

The ECP community is structured through local and regional groups that reflect our global footprint. Activities are often coordinated by volunteer ECP representatives who work closely with leadership to ensure voices from across the early career community are heard.

This structure allows the network to be employee‑led, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of early professionals while being supported by the wider organisation.

Why It Matters

At Mott MacDonald, we know that early career colleagues bring fresh perspectives, curiosity, and energy that drive innovation. The ECP network helps amplify these strengths, ensuring our people feel supported, empowered, and ready to shape the future of our industry.
