Our Academic Programme is designed to broaden and deepen your knowledge and shape your future with us.

 

 

A percentage of your hours are on the job, and the remainder of your time is dedicated to gaining practical experience and formal qualifications.

We do expect all our Academic Programme participants to spend the majority of their time on one of our key sites, closely engaging with their managers and teams. We also encourage them to travel to customers’ sites, and to engage in regular collaboration sessions through networking and community events.

Recruitment process

 

1. Application

2. Screening

Our talent specialists will review your submission to ensure you meet the eligibility criteria for the programme. This includes meeting the Security Clearance requirements and achieving the relevant grades outlined in the job description.

3. Online testing

If your application passes the screening stage, you'll be invited to complete an online assessment to help us identify your strengths and match you to the most suitable potential roles. 

4. Assessment Centre events

You will be invited to attend a full-day event at one of our Assessment Centres, which are located across the UK and Ireland, to meet members of our Academic Programme team and business leaders. These events begin in March. You'll participate in both individual and group activities designed to evaluate your suitability for a role at DXC Technology. 

5. Offer

Formal offers will be subsequently extended to accepted candidates.

6. Pre-Induction and onboarding

Before joining the business, you’ll be invited to webinars to connect with future colleagues and address any questions you may have. Induction and onboarding begin in September. Your recruiter will share detailed information about start dates closer to the time.

Our programme is designed to help you grow your career and gain skills that are important to supporting DXC’s business and customers. You can achieve industry-recognized certifications (where appropriate). It is possible to apply for up to one certification over the course of a financial year, and DXC connects you with academic managers to establish which certifications will be best suited to your chosen path. DXC offers our own learning platform and online tools, such as LinkedIn Learning and Udemy, for skills development and certification courses.

 

DXC in the community

DXC Technology encourages members of our academic programme to attend and support charity events and initiatives. 

DXC's graduates and apprentices have already supported several charitable initiatives, including the Manchester United Foundation and Walking with the Wounded. These events have provided opportunities for our early careers programme members to interact with colleagues, develop team-building skills, and contribute to worthy causes.
