Disability Network at Sopra Steria

Design Elements Shape: The central feature is a large, rounded speech bubble (or callout) with the "tail" pointing toward the bottom right. This shape typically symbolizes conversation, advocacy, and giving a voice to a community. Color Gradient: The speech bubble features a smooth linear gradient that transitions from a bright, vibrant cerulean blue on the left to a deep royal purple on the top right. Typography: The words "Disability Network" are centered inside the bubble. The text is in a bold, white, sans-serif font. It is stacked in two lines, with "Disability" on top and "Network" below it. The font has a clean, modern, and highly legible appearance.

At Sopra Steria, we actively use an adaptable recruitment process, workplace adjustments, training, and awareness-raising initiatives to make sure we attract and retain great people. Our inclusive network provides support, advice, and a voice for disabled employees.

Here are some of the things we do at Sopra Steria to support this from the first stages of recruitment through to daily working life:

  • We’re a Disability Confident Leader (Level 3 status) on the government’s ‘Disability Confident’ scheme. This is a voluntary scheme that supports employers to think differently about disability and helps us improve how we attract, recruit and retain people with disabilities, health conditions and neurodivergence.
  • As a proud Disability Confident Leader, we’re committed to offering an interview to all disabled candidates that meet the minimum criteria for the role they are applying for.
  • We’re a member of the Business Disability Forum - a not-for-profit membership organisation that supports businesses of all shapes and sizes to improve their recruitment and retention of disabled employees, as well as better serving customers with disabilities. The Business Disability Forum helps us to improve and tailor the support we offer.
  • We have an employee-led Disability Network, established to offer a collective voice and mutual support and to inform and support the organisation in being truly disability-inclusive. We work proactively with the Disability Network to raise awareness and promote positive attitudes towards disability inclusion.
  • We have an Exec Sponsor for Disability and Accessibility, a dedicated Accessibility Subject Matter Expert, a Workplace Adjustments Specialist, and an Accessibility Specialist in our recruitment team. These dedicated roles help support, simplify and streamline our workplace adjustments process.
  • We provide disability awareness training to all our People Managers to help grow our understanding of how to fully support colleagues with disabilities and health conditions.
  • We have trained a network of over 60 Mental Health First Aiders across our organisation to support colleagues and raise awareness of mental health issues in the workplace.
