Disability confidence training

Many employers have recognised that staff at all levels need to be better informed about disability issues, to ensure that they provide the best customer and employee experience possible.

Disability Confidence Training for employers/managers will extend their capacity to capitalise on the value that disabled employees bring to their organisation, improving their working knowledge of disability equality.

Disability Confidence Training ensures that employers and staff are informed and confident about issues surrounding disability, enabling them to offer the best possible “customer experience” to disabled people using their services.

Overview of Objectives:

• Recognising the different types of disability employers are likely to encounter on recruitment; working with colleagues and customers
• Understanding the Social Model of Disability
• Clearing up some myths and misconceptions about disability
• Recognising disability legislation in the UK and
• Recognising disability etiquette - including what language to use.
• Deepened understanding surrounding barriers and attitudinal/physical and organisational barriers.
