Bristol SU

We’re the University of Bristol Students’ Union – you’ll know us as Bristol SU.

Bristol SU is the world’s only charity focused solely on making the lives of University of Bristol students the best they can be.

We are a Union for all students, here to make sure every one of you has a great time in our incredible city, no matter who you are, or what you like.

We’re the home of student groups, volunteering, intramural sport, academic advice, campaigns, lettings, student democracy, representation and events.

Who we are

We're a students' union set in the heart of Clifton and we represent all students at the University of Bristol.

Part business, part charity, part membership body – Bristol SU is a seriously fun place to work.

Our professional staff do something extraordinary every day: we support student leaders to give people a voice in their education, help people get the most out of their student experience and make the change they want in the world.

We recognise that some candidates may face additional barriers throughout their careers and when applying for new roles across the sector.  We are committed to taking positive action to expand the diversity of our staff team by offering two guaranteed interview schemes – a scheme for People of Colour and a scheme for Disabled People.

Guaranteed Interview Scheme for People of Colour

If you meet the minimum criteria for a role (at least 80% of the 'essential' criteria in the person specification) and are a person of colour, and wish to be considered under the guaranteed interview scheme, you must let us know by opting into the scheme when you apply online.

The selection decision at interview will be based on the most suitable candidate, regardless of any protected characteristic.

Guaranteed Interview Scheme for Disabled People

Bristol SU is proud to be accredited as a Level 1 Disability Confident Employer making a commitment to the recruitment, development and retention of disabled staff.  As part of this we introduced a second Guaranteed Interview Scheme to our recruitment process, for disabled people.
