SWR and the Isle of Wight Community Rail Partnership
Category: Social Responsibility (Charity/ Volunteering/Environmentalism)
Helping communities around our network suits us down to the ground!
We’ve been back on the Isle of Wight visiting another inspiring project funded by our Customer & Communities Improvement Fund (CCIF) - this time with the Isle of Wight Community Rail Partnership, meeting the women taking part in the latest ‘Suit Yourself’ course.
This brilliant 10-week programme supports women from Ryde to Shanklin who are rebuilding confidence and self-esteem to re-enter the workplace or education. From CV writing and interview skills to support with educational and employment opportunities, Suit Yourself is making a real difference for women in the Isle of Wight.
Every year, our CCIF supports projects with a community benefit or addressing an area of social need. From training aspiring cycle mechanics in Hounslow to supporting older residents over 60 in Southampton to stay active and connected – CCIF funding can help bring these incredible initiatives to life.
