We’re delighted to announce that we have been named the Wellbeing Team of the Year at the 2019 THIS CAN HAPPEN awards. Our team has been recognised for the positive progress they have made in supporting wellbeing and driving forward mental health initiatives. Over the last two years, there has been a huge effort to improve the Civil Aviation Authority’s capability in supporting wellbeing, opening up conversations about mental health, and ensuring more support is in place.
The success of the team is testament to the Civil Aviation Authority’s commitment to a long-term approach, with support from across the organisation. We have introduced mental health training for line managers, a suite of wellbeing courses, re-designed our Occupational Health service, introduced a network of 50 Mental Health First Aiders, introduced health checks and online wellbeing assessments, held ‘lunch and learn’ sessions with some inspiring mental health campaigners, as well as hearing from a number of internal colleagues.
This is a great moment for us to reflect on our progress, but more importantly, it gives us further incentive to keep moving forward and improving our support for mental health and wellbeing at the Civil Aviation Authority.
