VodABILITY: Strengthening Our Commitment to Inclusion and Accessibility

In December, VodafoneThree marked International Day of Persons with Disabilities – a day to promote the rights and wellbeing of those with a disability – with the help of Disability Consultant and Trainer (and TV personality) Simon Minty.

The jam-packed day helped to raise awareness about the challenges our colleagues with a disability may face. We also honoured the remarkable achievements of our community and reaffirmed our commitment to creating a more inclusive workplace.

When it comes to employees, VodafoneThree is committed to making its working spaces and practices as accessible as possible, so that individuals – regardless of their situation – can thrive.

This approach is epitomised by the VodABILITY people network, which supports all types of disabilities across the business, creating an inclusive workplace for those directly or indirectly affected by disability.

But it’s not just our colleagues we look to support. As The Nation’s Network, and a member of the Valuable 500, it’s vital that Vodafone’s products and services are made with everyone in mind. To help ensure this remains the case, a dedicated line and email address are available to help customers get the support they need.

Whether an individual has limited mobility, restricted vision or difficulty hearing, VodafoneThree can assist. That might result in changing the format of bills and contracts or it could simply mean highlighting their account so they won’t have to explain their needs every time they get in touch. We know that small things like this can make such a difference.

Our internal VodABILITY Network is dedicated to fostering an environment of inclusion and promoting equal opportunities for all. IDPD is just one day of many and the Network is here all year round for our colleagues. The Network has made significant strides in the last year improving equality in recruitment across Vodafone's global footprint, supported the new Disability Allyship Programme and trained hundreds of colleagues in Neurodiversity Awareness and accessibility.

With over 150 attendees joining us throughout the day and many more watching the recordings it was heartwarming to know our colleagues from around the UK and the world want to celebrate this day and make a difference.
