Tucker, a T37 sprinter already supports the work of the recently formed Athletics Pride Network and featured in last month’s LGBT+ History month panel
She joins the group of UK Athletics staff members and athletes who are passionate about Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and promote positive engagement and promotion for the ED&I agenda. Current ED&I Advocates are listed here
Bethany said:
“I first heard of the ED & I Advocates through my involvement within the Athletics Pride Network and I am honoured to be an advocate and hope that my passion and outgoing personality can shape the future of EDI within our beautiful sport.
“I believe that all people should be included and that stereotypes and stigmas can be eradicated for future generations who wish to get involved in athletics. I also believe that it’s not just the athletes we should serve but Coaches, Officials and Volunteers too as they have such an important role to play in the Education of ED & I.”
Donna Fraser – UKA’s Equality, Diversity & Engagement Lead said:
“I am delighted Bethany has joined our ED & I group as an athlete representative. Her passion for championing Disability and Sexual Orientation and her work with the Athletics Pride Network means she is a great addition to the team and brings energy and enthusiasm to this vital area.”
