We're delighted to share that our most recent Community Investment award has been made following a nomination from a Thales employee.

David with the Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bike Service

Earlier this year Thales UK launched the new Thales Community Investment Fund. The fund gives our employees the opportunity to apply for a £4,000 grant to support a project or activity for a charity, community interest company (CiC), or community group.

There are three rounds of funding per year, with five charities being awarded a £4,000 grant per round.

We’re delighted to share that our most recent award has been made following a nomination from David, a Thales employee in the UK.

David volunteers as a rider/driver for the Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bike Service (LEBBS). A great charity provides a responsive service every weekend and bank holiday throughout the year, and where resources allow they provide an urgent response during the week. Their drivers and riders can carry anything that NHS commissioners consider urgent, for example, blood and blood products, medical notes, patients’ essential belongings, and breast milk to support newborn babies and their mothers.

Thank you to David for the difference he is making in his community and we know that the £4,000 funding award will go towards supporting a critical service.

About the Thales Community Investment Fund

The funding will focus on four key areas:

  • Food poverty - to tackle the cost of living crisis
  • Community impact and wellbeing
  • Social mobility - the UK has one of the poorest rates of social mobility in the developed world
  • Youth development - in the past few years young people have experienced interrupted education and isolation, with poor access to mental health services and career advice.
