Hannah, an HR Graduate at Thales transitioned from a degree in French and Spanish to a strategic career in human resources. Now in her second rotation within the Strategic Business Partnering team, Hannah uses her fresh perspective to support organisational design and analyse culture data, ensuring Thales remains an inclusive and supportive environment for all its people.

Hannah

As an HR graduate, I have been given the opportunity to work in the Future Talent team, where I supported in hiring the graduates and apprentices.

I am currently in the second year of my graduate scheme working in Strategic Business Partnering (SHRBP). In this role, I am given the opportunity to engage with stakeholders in our different Business Lines and support them in achieving their goals, targets and objectives. I am able to expand my knowledge across areas such as Talent Review, Attrition, Payroll and Organisational Design, while also supporting with Demographic and Culture data, to help create an inclusive space.

The SHRBP team rely on an open mind to solutions. While I am new to the team, my previous work experience has allowed me to bring a fresh perspective to the team. I am also able to support all my team members in their deliveries.

My journey so far

Prior to working at Thales, I completed a degree in French & Spanish at Newcastle University. While my degree was not in HR, as is my current career path, I was initially unsure of my aspirations and so chose a degree with transferable skills. I was able to analyse those skills, identify HR as an area of interest, and then apply for an internship with Ocado.

I decided to apply for graduate schemes to continue my growth and development and gain more experience across the different areas in HR. I found Thales through an internet search and decided to apply. I started my two year scheme in September 2023, and am now in my second rotation.

What I enjoy most about working with Thales

What I love most about Thales, is its care for its people. As an employee, I feel cared about both on a human and work level, and supported in my growth.
