Tesco wins Best Network at the British LGBT Awards
Our colleague networks help to promote equality throughout Tesco, and thanks to the hard work of members, our LGBTQ+ colleague network won ‘Best Network’ at this year's British LGBT Awards!
The British LGBT Awards launched in 2015 to help improve equality and the lives of LGBT+ people. The awards shine a spotlight on the individuals and organisations who are working tirelessly to better the needs of LGBT+ people. We were proud to be the headline sponsor of the event this year.
Our LGBTQ+ at Tesco colleague network is in place to help support and empower our colleagues, so they feel confident to be themselves at work. The team help us make more inclusive decisions for colleagues, customers and our local communities.
This award recognises the network’s fantastic progress over the last 18 months
Adam Jarvis, LGBTQ+ at Tesco network Co-Chair
“I couldn’t be prouder that LGBTQ+ at Tesco won the award for Best Network Group at the British LGBT Awards – it was an honour and a surprise to receive this on behalf of the team, and a huge thank you to everyone who has been involved. I’m really pleased that Tesco was the headline sponsor for the awards – the event was a wonderful way to celebrate the great talent from across the LGBTQ+ community and progress being made towards equality. Following our own LGBTQ+ Awards in Pride Month, we know there are so many things colleagues at Tesco are doing to support one another and it was a pleasure to go along to the British LGBT Awards to see what is going on across society. It was really inspiring hearing about all of the winners (and everyone shortlisted) and we all had a fabulous evening as well.”
