Laura Jones – Being a Senior Officer at DSN
What role I work in & how long I’ve been with the organisation
I am now Senior Officer, but I started as bank staff almost 8.5 years ago, I then became a full time support worker and then four years ago I became a full time senior.
What attracted me to DSN
I knew about DSN due to my previous job in college as a Communication Support Worker, I knew some of the tenants and I always thought that DSN supported living was a really unique service.
What I like best about my role
Gosh where do I start! I like everything about my role, I especially like to see new staff join us and really gain confidence and become really valuable members of the team.
I feel great job satisfaction when the tenants respond to me in a positive way, when I know that they really trust me and I can make a difference to their lives. I feel supported by my line manager and valued as a person.
What I think about the training & development opportunities offered
The training is fantastic, and I was given a wonderful opportunity to become a senior and work only night shifts, which fits in with my family. DSN have been very accommodating to allow me to do this and I am really grateful for that
