Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Becci Bryant won the Most Influential Woman in Fire category which honoured the work she has done to make a discernible difference to fire and rescue service performance in the past year. She went head to head against colleagues from across the UK in the Excellence in Fire and Emergency Awards 2016. The ceremony, hosted by FIRE Magazine, was held in London on 2 December 2016.

Becci said: “It is a real honour to have won the Most Influential Woman in Fire award. The standard of the other nominees in this category was extremely high which makes it even more of an achievement to have been chosen out of such a talented group of people.

“In Staffordshire, we strive to be innovative, highly efficient and effective in reducing the number of fires that we respond to by focussing on prevention and protection work, so that fewer residents experience the devastation caused by such incidents.

"I am very proud of where we are now and I am committed to providing our communities with the same first-class service that they expect and deserve as we face any challenges that may arise in the future.”

Not only did CFO Becci Bryant win the award but Equality and Diversity Manager, Diane Dunlevey, was nominated in the same category, therefore meaning that the Service presented two candidates for this prestigious award.
