Better starts here with Siemens Early Careers: Mobility

Category: Training & Development

Early Careers

Better. For you, your career, and the industry.

Siemens creates technology with a purpose, for our people, our customers, and the future.

Our focus is broad – we’re making an impact on industry, infrastructure, and mobility. Here we develop resource efficient factories, resilient supply chains, smarter buildings and grids, cleaner transport systems, and careers that make a difference.

Better is a tangible impact – and it starts with you.

Combining the real and digital worlds allows Siemens to empower its customers to transform their industries and markets, creating a better every day for billions of people.

Mobility

Here we challenge how we think about transport – we’re making infrastructure intelligent, increasing value for mobility operators, guaranteeing availability, and enhancing the customer experience. It’s better mobility for a better future.

“Siemens has helped me learn what I need to succeed now, and discover the things I want to do in the future. I’ve been fortunate to learn so much more here than if I were anywhere else.”

Case study: Bringing a new generation of trains to London’s Tube

The London Underground is the oldest and one of the busiest metro systems in the world. Approximately 5 million passengers a day use the Tube’s 11 lines – 700,000 of which use the Piccadilly line. In November 2018, London Underground Limited (LUL) commissioned Siemens Mobility Limited to design and build 94 new Inspiro trains for the Piccadilly line. Together, we’re transforming the travel experience for millions of rail passengers in London.

New trains will be more spacious and air-cooled, with walk-through carriages and enhanced accessibility. It will mean a substantially improved experience for passengers who use the Piccadilly line to travel into and through the heart of the capital.

Not that our role will end with the delivery of the trains. As part of the fleet services contract, we will cover the supply of spare parts for a period of five years. We’ll be providing whole-life technical support for the trains when their general warranty has expired. LUL will also be using our digital services based on our unique Railigent solution, which helps rail operators make intelligent use of rail data.

Siemens Mobility Limited recruits one of the largest intakes of graduates and interns across our business. Your work here could be great news for Londoners and visitors from everywhere.

“Thanks to our incredible scale, at
Siemens you’ll find opportunities to
grow in specialist areas you wouldn’t
find anywhere else.“
