Royal Mail: Women's History Month

It was International Women’s Day on the 8th of March, part of Women’s History Month. This year’s theme is #MakeItHappen, and is encouraging effective action for recognising and advancing women.
Thousands of events will be held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements.
We are working with gender diversity campaign Opportunity Now to increase women's success at work and create a better gender balance for leadership progression.
Supporting diversity is a core management issue at Royal Mail.
Our key achievements to date include:
- Royal Mail was named as one of the Times Top 50 Employers for Women in 2014, in recognition of our commitment to gender equality.
- In 2013, we were named as one of Business in the Community’s Top 10 Private Sector Organisations for gender equality.
- Last year we created a new Diversity Council, with the objective of improving diversity across the business and to drive positive change.
- We achieved a Gold standard in the Opportunity Now assessment - a benchmark which evaluates companies performance on gender equality.
