MOD – An amazing range of opportunities over a career

Hi I’m Neil and I joined the MOD as a Civil Servant 25 years ago. I had no idea of the range of opportunities that would be available to me over the course of my career.
This includes being supported in my studies towards professional qualifications and completing the Department’s internal development scheme. I feel grateful for the experience, support and encouragement of those around me – right up to senior leaders.
I have worked in a number of functions across the Department including finance, judicial engagement and policy. I also completed a loan out of Defence to work in another Government Department which included work to directly support Brexit planning.
I currently work in Project Delivery on an Army HR transformation programme, in a mixed team of Army, contractor and Civil Service colleagues. I am proud to work with the Army and grateful for the opportunities and progression it’s given me.
